Bloomberg reports on hundreds of Russian fake paintings flooding into the market. Presumably, some talented forgers have been making a lot of money over the past 8 or so years. Modern art — the triumph of creativity over talent, as Stoppard says — isn’t the only beneficiary of an art boom. Forgers, the last remaining artisans of the art world, also benefit. Where are they now?
